Though Mario Epanya’s “Vogue Africa” vision was dismissed by conde nast, there is no denying that there is an incredible need for such a publication.
In recent months there has been even more attention focused on the continent concerning fashion. This year’s IHT Luxury Conference will exchange views on Africa as a developing consumer. The conference’s theme is “The Promise of Africa and the Power of the Mediterranean”.
Another significant action has been Franca Sozzani (we heart her!) dedicating the entire May 2012 issue of L’Uomo Vogue to celebrating Africa’s talent!
Who knows, maybe Mario’s beautiful Vogue Africa mock-up will be a reality soon and not just gorgeous pics.
